This week brings a little bit of everything: an evening of familiar music, a Saturday built for errands and local finds, and a Sunday gathering with real heart.

First, though, there is a milestone worth pausing for.

Forty thousand people now call Leduc home.

The City is marking the milestone with a five-part storytelling campaign tracing Leduc’s early roots near Telford Lake, the discovery at Leduc No. 1, the growth of local neighbourhoods and services, and the people shaping what comes next.

Why it matters: Growth can be measured in numbers, but a community is built through its schools, parks, businesses, volunteers, traditions and everyday connections. This milestone is a chance to appreciate both.

ABBA Revisited brings the group’s familiar harmonies, costumes and biggest songs to the Maclab stage. It is an easy midweek night out for anyone who still knows the words when “Dancing Queen” starts playing.

Bring electronics, paint, tires and used-oil materials to the Eco Station for free recycling. The event also includes free snacks and a prize draw featuring local businesses.

The Saturday market brings local growers, makers, bakers and small businesses together at the LRC. With the seasonal market running only until the end of September, there are just a couple of Saturdays left to visit.

For shoppers: It is an easy place to pick up something fresh, handmade or local while meeting the people behind it.

For local businesses: These final market weeks are a visible reminder that returning customers and neighbour-to-neighbour recommendations carry momentum beyond a single season.

Run, walk, bike or blade in support of cancer research and Terry Fox’s legacy of hope and determination. The route welcomes all ages and abilities—and dogs can join too.

After the run, participants can stay for a charity barbecue, live entertainment and time with neighbours.

Why it matters: This is one of those community events where showing up is the point. Every pace belongs, and every participant helps carry the story forward.
