One of my favourite things about living here is seeing people quietly making our community better.

This week we're celebrating some of Leduc's youngest leaders, sharing a few summer activities for families, and giving you a sneak peek at something brand new launching tomorrow that I can't wait to share.

As always, thank you for making lalocal part of your Thursday morning.

Sometimes the future of a community is easier to see than we think.

Leduc's 2026 Youth Council recently presented its annual update to City Council, highlighting the work they've been doing throughout the year. These twelve local youth have helped lead the Youth Ambassadors program while supporting initiatives like Community Clean Up and Arbour Day.

It's encouraging to see young people investing their time and energy into making Leduc an even better place to live.

To everyone serving on this year's Youth Council — thank you. Your leadership matters, and our community is stronger because of it.

If you're looking for something fun and creative for the kids this summer, LEGO Adventure Camp is running at Glen Park Hall through rotating three-day sessions during July.

Kids will spend their days building, creating, solving challenges, and making new friends in a hands-on environment that encourages imagination and teamwork.

It's another reminder that there are plenty of great opportunities close to home to keep young minds engaged this summer.

Summer in the City returns with another full day of family activities, entertainment, community fun, and opportunities to spend time with friends and neighbours.

We'll share more details as the event gets closer, but now's the perfect time to save the date.

Here's something I learned this week that genuinely surprised me.

According to the City of Leduc's 2025 Annual Report, our community grew three times faster than originally projected.

That's incredible.

It's exciting to see so many people choosing to call Leduc home, but it also reminds us why thoughtful planning, strong local businesses, and community involvement are more important than ever.

Leduc continues to grow — but what makes it special is the people who choose to build a life here.

Summer in the City is only a few weeks away.

Seven years of baking, learning, dreaming, and believing eventually became one of Leduc's favourite places to gather over coffee and fresh pastries.

It's more than the story of a bakery. It's the story of someone who chose to invest in our community.

I think you're going to enjoy meeting her.
