Halloween is getting closer, and this weekend has a definite family feel.

You can catch Frozen the Broadway Musical at the Maclab, get an early start on costumes and Halloween fun Saturday, or head to Southfork Sunday for Treat Leduc, an accessible trick-or-treating celebration designed so children of all abilities can participate.

And if you're looking for an adults' night out, traditional Irish band Tulua takes the Maclab stage Sunday evening.

Here's a good family option without leaving Leduc.

Stageworks Academy is bringing Frozen the Broadway Musical to the Maclab Centre for four performances over three days.

The familiar story follows Anna as she sets out to find Elsa after her sister's powers leave Arendelle trapped in an eternal winter.

And yes — Olaf, Kristoff and Sven are along for the adventure. ☃️

Spooktacular Halloween details

This is one we're especially happy to share.

Treat Leduc is back Sunday, with an accessible trick-or-treating street party built to help children of all abilities take part.

Instead of requiring kids to navigate steps and front entrances, participating Southfork homeowners hand out treats from the ends of their driveways.

That simple change can make trick-or-treating more accessible while still giving kids the neighbourhood Halloween experience. ❤️

And importantly:

All children are welcome.

Children do not need to identify as having a visible or invisible disability to participate.

Participating groups are expected to include youth council, Scouting, Boys and Girls Club, Cadets, Kinsmen, police and fire services.

Organizers told lalocal there is still room to register.

Treat Leduc will also have bins collecting non-perishable food donations for the Leduc Food Bank.

If you're looking for something completely different Sunday evening, Tulua brings traditional Irish music to Leduc.

The City of Leduc is inviting families with young children to the Leduc Protective Services Building for an early Halloween evening.
