Before We Open – Episode 005: Insecta Fight
Chance and Cole turned a high school business idea into a Leduc coaching community built around fitness, skill, and personal growth.
Leduc, Alberta

A great coach teaches more than technique. Every session at Insecta Fight is built around confidence, discipline, and helping people become stronger—inside and outside the gym.
Before the First Round
Chance was working in a warehouse when he began to feel that something was missing. The job left him unfulfilled, and he wanted his work to mean more.
He wanted to build something with purpose—something that could help people grow stronger and more confident.
An idea from high school kept pulling him forward. Years earlier, he and Cole had created a mock business together for a class assignment. Long after the class ended, they still believed the idea could become something real.
That idea became Insecta Fight.
Insecta Fight is not a traditional boxing gym.
It is a place for private coaching, fitness, and skill development. Clients learn boxing technique, build conditioning, and grow their confidence in a safe environment.
Think of it as having a boxing coach and a personal trainer in one. Chance and Cole are not building a business around fighting. They are building a community where people can learn, improve, and feel stronger in themselves.
An Idea That Stayed With Them
The first version of Insecta Fight began years earlier in a high school business class.
Chance and Cole were asked to create a mock business. Together, they developed the idea that would later become Insecta Fight.
The assignment ended, but the idea stayed with them. As friends and partners, Chance and Cole kept believing in what it could become. They carried it beyond the classroom and continued building it together.
Over time, it became more than a school project. It became a possible way forward: a business where they could coach people, share their skills, and do work that felt meaningful.
Leaving the warehouse was not simply about changing jobs. It was about moving toward a purpose.
More Than a Boxing Gym
The name may bring boxing to mind, but Insecta Fight is designed to offer something more personal than a typical fight gym.
Coaching is private. Sessions can include boxing instruction, fitness coaching, conditioning, and focused skill development.
That creates space for people to learn at their own pace. They can work on technique, improve their fitness, and build confidence without feeling like they have to become competitive fighters.
The goal is progress—not pressure. Each person is encouraged to improve at their own pace in a supportive environment. Learning boxing skills matters, but so do confidence, fitness, and personal growth. The focus is on helping people become stronger in ways that matter to them—not turning them into competitive fighters.
For someone new to boxing, that safe and focused setting can make the first step feel possible. For someone with experience, it offers a chance to keep sharpening their skills.
In both cases, the coaching starts with the person in front of them.

Coaching is at the heart of Insecta Fight. Every athlete receives hands-on guidance, whether they're stepping into the gym for the first time or building on years of experience.

The gym is designed to be a place where hard work, learning, and personal growth come together in a welcoming environment.

Every piece of equipment has a purpose, helping members build skills, improve fitness, and develop confidence one session at a time.
Connected to Leduc
The Insecta Fight community is not limited to an indoor training space.
Chance and Cole also value the outdoor spaces that make Leduc feel like home. Picture moving through a coaching session along a local trail, with the open space near Telford Lake or Fred Johns Lake becoming part of the experience.
There, every stretch of trail offers room to move, focus, and keep going. Outdoor coaching brings fitness into the community itself and shows that progress does not have to happen inside a traditional gym.
Their love for Leduc is part of what they are building: a local coaching business shaped by the community around it.

Progress happens one round, one drill, and one lesson at a time. Every session is another step forward in each athlete's journey.
The Moments That Matter
For Chance and Cole, the proudest moments are found in the progress of the people they coach.
They get to watch athletes improve their technique. They see confidence grow. They see people become fitter, more capable, and more comfortable with skills that once felt unfamiliar.
That kind of change is personal.
It is not only about landing a punch correctly or finishing a hard session. It is about helping someone recognize what they can do.
Each small improvement becomes part of something larger: personal growth that clients can carry beyond training.
Life Outside Coaching
The energy Chance brings to coaching also runs through his life outside the gym.
Morning bike rides keep him moving. Concert and nightlife photography give him a creative way to capture people sharing an experience. As an EDM DJ, he helps create that experience from another side.
Coaching, cycling, photography, and DJing may look different, but they share a common thread. Each reflects Chance's energy, creativity, and love of bringing people together.
They also reflect the bigger story of Insecta Fight. A meaningful life can take more than one form, and confidence can grow in many different spaces.
Looking Ahead
Insecta Fight grew from a classroom idea and a desire to find more purpose in everyday work.
Now, Chance and Cole are turning that idea into a coaching community.
The future is not only about teaching more boxing. It is about helping more people build fitness, technique, and confidence in a setting where they feel safe to learn.
That is the heart of the business they are building in Leduc.
Community Corner
Bring a Friend This Summer
Insecta Fight's summer referral promotion is an invitation to share a session with someone you know.
When a member refers a friend, the friend's second class is 50% off, and the referring member receives one free class.
It is a simple way to welcome someone into the community and make trying something new feel a little easier.
More Than Learning to Fight
Insecta Fight began as a high school assignment. It stayed alive through a warehouse job, a search for purpose, and a belief that coaching could make a difference.
Today, Chance and Cole are giving that idea a real home in Leduc.
Boxing may be the skill they teach, but it is not the hero of this story.
The real story is what people build through the process: confidence, fitness, connection, and the courage to keep improving.
Chance and Cole are building more than a coaching business. They are helping people gain confidence, improve their health, and find a welcoming community, one person at a time.
What began as an idea between two friends is becoming a place where others can grow. That is the purpose behind Insecta Fight—and the community Chance and Cole hope to keep building together.

Insecta Fight is more than a training facility—it's a community where people encourage one another, celebrate progress, and grow together.
